Come join the Decision Support Office team as they present the basics of running your own Large Language Model (LLM) on TACC HPC systems. You’ll learn the basic technologies and frameworks of LLMs, and how to access and query them. We’ll provide tutorials that you can explore to further understand LLM Techniques.Â
Learning Outcomes:
 - Access and run tutorials on NLP and Large Language Models
 - Set up documents for your own NLP tasks
 - Query Documents within your workflow

Dr. Will Mobley serves as a Research Associate in the Decision Support Office in the Texas Advanced Computing Center at The University of Texas at Austin, where his research focus lies in Robust Decision Making under Deep Uncertainty and Geospatial Applied Machine Learning. Holding a Ph.D. in Urban & Regional Science from Texas A&M University, Dr. Mobley has made notable contributions to the field, with impactful articles such as "Polarization of Climate Change Beliefs: The Role of the Millennial Generation Identity" and "Quantification of Continuous Flood Hazard Using Random Forest Classification and Flood Insurance Claims at Large Spatial Scales: A Pilot Study in Southeast Texas." His dedication to excellence is exemplified by the recognition of his journal article, "Evaluation of Flood Risk Reduction Strategies Through Combinations of Interventions," which received the Best Article Award from the Journal of Flood Risk Management. Dr. Mobley's background in urban planning and disaster mitigation informs his work in developing decision support systems, and he played a crucial role alongside Dr. Pierce in designing the inaugural version of the Texas statewide disaster information system.
Lissa Pearson (MS Geosciences) joined the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) in 2019 as an Integrated Modeling & Decision Analyst, where her work has focused on data reporting and specifically the development and implementation of business rules for the data cleaning and processing pipeline. Prior to joining TACC she worked for 10 years as a contractor in NOAA's National Sea Grant College Program Office, where she implemented the program evaluation database and application.
